Early festive cheer for the final round of the American Tournament on Sunday 6 December.

Congratulations to Ann Lough and David Silverman who won the December round for the Ladies and Men respectively. The 2015 overall winners are Audrey Adams for the Ladies, and Lewis Jacques for the Men.

American tournament organiser Toby Jackson writes:

We had a dozen players down for the final American of the year with the Ladies crown still to play for, and the drizzle holding off long enough to allow us to finish. Michael Hirst kindly provided some festive mulled wine, mince pies and fruit cake to accompany the usual savouries. An enjoyable morning all round though the wind certainly played its part on court.

Ann Lough took top honours on the day, but her 3 point advantage in the last event was insufficient to overhaul the 11 point lead held by Audrey Adams prior to Sunday. Audrey recaptures the Ladies trophy (last held by her in 2012) from holder Ann who held the title during 2013 and 2014. Both Ladies reached the magic 200 point mark that signals a serious title challenge.

In the Mens event, Lewis Jacques was able to put his feet up for the last two rounds having amassed an unassailable 220 points ahead of Toby Jackson in second place. David Silverman took the December honours with 5 players only being separated by 2 points on the day.

The 2016 event will start on the first Sunday of February. My thanks to all 45 players that took part during 2015
